Mentre divampa la guerra di secessione, tre uomini privi di scrupoli e di ideali vivono ai margini della legalità: Tuco, il Brutto, Joe, il Buono e Sentenza, il Cattivo. Sentenza è da tempo sulle tracce di una grande quantità d'oro nascosta dal temibile Bill Carson al sicuro dentro una tomba. Per uno scherzo del destino, però, è il Buono a scoprire il nome scritto sulla tomba e il Brutto a individuarne l'ubicazione. Così i tre uomini, che si odiano e non si fidano l'uno nell'altro, sono costretti ad iniziare insieme le ricerche, legati dal destino e dalla stringente necessità di sorvegliarsi l'un l'altro giorno e notte. Nel cimitero, i tre si affrontano nel duello decisivo: dopo aver eliminato il Cattivo, Il Buono deride il Brutto per poi lasciarlo in vita, malconcio, spaventato a morte e con una tale quantità di monete d'oro che non riuscirà mai a spendere e forse neppure a trasportare.





As the war of secession unfolds, three men without scruples and ideals live on the margins of legality: Tuco, The Ugly, Joe, the Good and the Sentence, the Bad. Judgment has long been on the traces of a large amount of gold hidden by the fearsome Bill Carson safe in a tomb. For a joke of fate, however, is the Good to discover the name written on the grave and the Ugly to locate the location. So the three men, who hate and do not trust each other, are forced to start researching together, bound by fate and the need to watch over one another day and night.
