Manfred Bernardo (François Arnaud, UnREAL) è un medium: parla con i fantasmi, sa evocare i morti e si guadagna da vivere tenendo sedute spiritiche a pagamento.

Qualcuno, però, vuole fargli del male. Su consiglio della defunta nonna Xylda, sensitiva gitana molto nota, cerca rifugio a Midnight, una cittadina del Texas dimenticata da Dio.

Secondo Xylda, Midnight sarebbe stato un rifugio sicuro perché, come scopre Manfred poco dopo il suo arrivo, è popolata da creature soprannaturali.

Streghe, vampiri e altri esseri con poteri straordinari, supportati da alcuni umani che li difendono, cercano di vivere nell'ombra, conducendo un'esistenza tranquilla.

Fra di essi ci sono sono il vampiro Lemuel Bridger, la strega Fiji Cavanaugh e alcuni umani schierati al loro fianco.

Bobo Winthorp è il proprietario del banco dei pegni, nel cui edificio vivono Lemuel e l'umana Olivia Charity, e dove anche Manfred trova alloggio.

Ma la presenza in città di una setta, nota come i Figli di Lucifero, minaccia la pace di Midnight.

Il giorno dopo l'arrivo di Manfred, un omicidio sconvolge gli abitanti.

Xylda si sbagliava su Midnight: la cittadina non è più sicura come una volta. E Manfred, a causa dei suoi poteri, dovrà collaborare alla risoluzione del caso, addentrandosi in un passato oscuro e pericoloso per scoprire i segreti di Midnight e delle creature che vi si nascondono... Tutte unite, contro un nemico molto più spaventoso di loro.

Midnight, Texas è tratta dall'omonima saga letteraria firmata da Charlaine Harris, la scrittrice di True Blood.

Dopo i 10 episodi della prima stagione, accolti positivamente da pubblico e critica, la serie è stata rinnovata per una seconda stagione.
