Действие сериала разворачивается в Лос-Анджелесе, где некогда успешный швед Ингмар (Петер Стормаре) пытается зарабатывать на жизнь в качестве частного детектива, после того, как его карьера каскадёра закончилась трагедией. Очередное дело приводит его к ничего не подозревающему земляку Акселю, который достиг довольно больших успехов, путешествуя по миру в качестве ди-джея, но в конце-концов удача покинула его. Аксель готов к новым свершениям и в итоге присоединяется к агентству Ингмара под названием "Шведский ствол", трансформировавшемуся отныне в "Шведские стволы", где они распутывают самые странные происшествия в городе...
