Sonic Highways è una serie di documentari diretta e ideata da Dave Grohl, frontman del gruppo musicale alternative rock Foo Fighters. Gli otto episodi della serie sono stati concepiti di pari passo con l'ottavo album in studio dei Foo Fighters, intitolato anch'esso Sonic Highways e al termine di ogni episodio è presente un brano composto durante il soggiorno del gruppo nella città visitata, con la collaborazione degli artisti intervistati. Chicago, Washington, Nashville, Austin, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Seattle e New York sono le otto città in cui i Foo Fighters viaggeranno allo scopo di trovare l'ispirazione da cui emergerà il nuovo album, oltre a raccontare la storia della musica statunitense dell'ultimo secolo, con l’aiuto di cardini essenziali di molteplici stili, ambienti e culture musicali. Tappe importanti sono gli studi di registrazione analogici, figureranno l'Electrical Audio di Chicago, il Rancho de la Luna in California e gli Inner Ear Studios di Washington.

Sonic Highways is a documentary series directed and created by Dave Grohl, frontman of the alternative rock band Foo Fighters. The 8 episodes of the series have been conceived to the same footstep of the eighth studio album of the Foo Fighters, also entitled Sonic Highways and at the end of every episode it is present a song composed on the stay of the group in the visited city, with the collaboration of the interviewed artists. Chicago, Washington, Nashville, Austin, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Seattle and New York are the 8 cities where the Foo Fighters will travel to the purpose to find the inspiration from which will emerge the new album, besides telling the history of the American music of the last century, with the help of essential hinges of manifold styles, environments and musical cultures. Important stop are the analogical recording studies, will show up the Audio Electrical of Chicago, the Rancho de la Luna in California and the Inner Ear Studios of Washington.
