L'investigatore del fuoco Sean McCaffrey (Joe Anderson), figlio del defunto Stephen "Bull" McCaffrey (interpretato da Kurt Russell nel film del 1991), lavora con Brian McCaffrey (William Baldwin) alla Stazione 17, dove Brian ha lavorato con Stephen prima della sua morte. Fire investigator Sean McCaffrey (Joe Anderson), son of the late Stephen "Bull" McCaffrey (played by Kurt Russell in the 1991 film), works with Brian McCaffrey (William Baldwin) at Station 17, where Brian worked with Stephen before his death. Sean is given an assignment to investigate a deadly fire with a female arson investigator named Maggie Rening (Alisha Bailey) on Halloween. Sean is told to speak to Ronald Bartel (Donald Sutherland) about who might be behind the fires. Brian dies while trying to save Sean from a fire. Sean and Maggie go after the terrorists. The terrorists are defeated and a call comes in for another fire.
