Alfredo, piccolo truffatore e ladruncolo, esce dal carcere dopo avere scontato una pena inflittagli per maltrattamenti alla moglie Adelina che lo attende all'uscita per dichiarargli che non intende piu' vivere con lui. La donna, infatti, ora convive con Giovannino, un rude tassinaro che alla mancanza di affettuosità supplisce con un forte senso delle necessità familiari. Alfredo, anche approfittando del fatto che Adelina e Giovannino non possono sposarsi prima della concessione del divorzio, avvicina il proprio figlio Pasqualino e lo affascina con munifici regali e con esibizioni di fantasia sino al punto di fargli trascorrere una giornata nei dintorni di Tunisi. Adelina resiste a lungo e reagisce a volte con violenza alla corte del legittimo marito. Un giorno, tuttavia, il linciaggio subito da Alfredo come conseguenza del rapimento del proprio figlio, induce la donna a riavvicinare forse definitivamente lo stravagante personaggio.







Alfredo, a small swindler and petty thief, leaves prison after serving a sentence imposed on him for ill-treatment with his wife Adelina who is waiting for him to go out and declare that he no longer wants to live with him. The woman, in fact, now cohabits with Giovannino, a rough taxonomist who makes up for the lack of affection with a strong sense of family needs. Alfredo, even taking advantage of the fact that Adelina and Giovannino cannot marry before the divorce was granted, approaches his son Pasqualino and fascinates him with generous gifts and fanciful performances to the point of making him spend a day around Tunis. Adelina resists for a long time and sometimes reacts with violence to the court of her legitimate husband. One day, however, the lynching suffered by Alfredo as a result of the abduction of his own son, leads the woman to perhaps once again close the extravagant character.
