Judy & Punch, il film diretto da Mirrah Foulkes, è un live-action in costume ambientato nel mondo del teatro delle marionette. Il film si ispira alle celebri maschere inglesi "Judy & Punch", che nel XVI secolo venivano utilizzate nei teatri dei burattini.
La storia è quella di Judy (Mia Wasikowska) e di suo marito Punch (Damon Herriman), due burattinai che vivono nella città di Seaside, villaggio stravagante dominato dalla smania per la caccia alle streghe e per le loro impiccagioni. La gente del posto infatti si delizia con la brutalità di tali esecuzioni, mentre Judy e Punch insieme al proprio bambino, cercano il modo per scappare verso un mondo migliore grazie anche all'aiuto del loro lavoro.
Putroppo Punch è un uomo con molte debolezze, subisce il fascino delle donne e non ha un buon rapporto con l'alcool, tutto questo avrà conseguenze disastrose per tutta la famiglia.

Judy & Punch, the film directed by Mirrah Foulkes, is a costumed live-action set in the world of puppet theater. The film is inspired by the famous English masks "Judy & Punch", which were used in puppet theaters in the 16th century.
The story is that of Judy (Mia Wasikowska) and her husband Punch (Damon Herriman), two puppeteers who live in the city of Seaside, an extravagant village dominated by the craving for witch hunts and their hangings. In fact, the locals delight in the brutality of these executions, while Judy and Punch together with their child, look for the way to escape to a better world thanks to the help of their work.
Unfortunately Punch is a man with many weaknesses, suffers the charm of women and does not have a good relationship with alcohol, all this will have disastrous consequences for the whole family.
