In this production, Lucian Msamati makes theatrical history as

       the first black actor to ever play Iago at the Royal Shakespeare                  Company.



My notes



  Each director gives new focus to a play.  The previous Othello I have in this collection is from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.  Comparing the two,  I saw in the RSC a scene of great depth that I had not thought of in such violent terms before.  Also the interpretation of Iago is done in a completely different style.  It put me in mind of the earlier RSC production of Julius Caesar with an all-black cast and shot in South Africa starring Patterson Joseph.  That is in this collection.



  With newer subtitling tools I am able to add subtitles from a translator.

This upload now includes French, Polish, and Afrikaans and Swahili.



  For those following the RSC video releases,  Nadia Albina, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd and James Corrigan return from their previous roles in the RSC Merchant Of Venice. That is also in this torrent file group



  I have been using newer tools and so the size of the RSC Live Othello is a more friendly download than earlier file shares.  The quality is good but designed for your information, not necessarily for large screen projection. Tell your libraries to get the full retail box DVD for more details.



 Also any synchronization problems can be corrected in VLC.  If you don't know this trick, the audio can be delayed or advanced with the J and K keys.  In processing sometimes things get slightly off.
