Lovecraft Country è una serie horror soprannaturale creata da Misha Green (Underground) basandosi sul romanzo omonimo di Matt Ruff, prodotta per HBO da J.J. Abrams e Jordan Peele. La storia si concentra su Atticus Freeman (interpretato dall'attore di When We Rise Jonathan Majors), un uomo di colore che nell'America degli anni '50, un'epoca in cui in molti stati del Sud erano in vigore quelle dure leggi di Jim Crow che contribuirono a sistematizzare la segregazione razziale, decide di mettersi sulle tracce del padre scomparso. Insieme all'amica Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Underground) e allo zio George (Courtney B. Vance, American Crime Story), Atticus intraprende un viaggio pericoloso verso Lovercraft Country, un luogo profondamente ingiusto, trovandosi a lottare per la propria sopravvivenza non solo contro i terrori razzisti dell'America bianca ma anche contro mostri raccapriccianti che sembrano usciti dalle storie fantastiche di H.P.
