A Woman of No Importance is a play by Irish playwright Oscar Wilde. The play

premiered on 19 April 1893 at London's Haymarket Theatre. Like Wilde's other

society plays, it satirizes English upper class society. It has been performed on

stages in Europe and North America since his death in 1900.



My notes

 

This is from the Classic Spring Theatre Company at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Classic Spring Theatre had four Oscar Wilde plays performed in their season. It was

a new project of Dominic Dromgoole (who speaks in the Introduction) after his time as

managing director of Shakespeare's Globe and succeeded by Emma Rice.  What will be

familiar is the many actors including Eve Best, Dominic Rowan,  Sam Cox and others

from the Shakespeare plays on DVD at the Globe. The season included Wilde's The Importance

Of Being Ernest,  A Woman of No Importance,  An Ideal Husband and Lady Windermere's Fan.  



 This is a new torrent from an original much larger file made from my previous upload

and recode.  I give reference to that original in the NFO.  After checking, the original

cannot be found on indexes including the failed index where it appeared and where

I had this recode running.
