Description
OVA's been released in dvd format only so I decided to try out modern technologies which turned out to be fine. Original 576p episodes has been upscaled to near 1080p using Neural Networks or AI. I used waifu2x for every frame. The resulting quality is not of the native 1080p of course, but it is substantial, especially on human faces. Output frames are encoded into H.264 crf16 placebo preset and HEVC crf15 slow preset. Use whichever you like, but in my view HEVC provided better quality overall though file size is higher too.
