Fuga dal Natale, commedia diretta da Joe Roth, segue le vicende della famiglia Krank, che ha sempre celebrato in grande stile il Natale. Tuttavia, dopo tanti anni, per la prima volta, Luther (Tim Allen) e la moglie Nora (Jamie Lee Curtis) si ritrovano a dover passare le festività senza la figlia Blair (Julie Gonzalo), partita in Perù come volontaria.
Così, quando Luther vede in un’agenzia di viaggi il poster di una crociera nei Caraibi, gli viene in mente un’idea: rinunciare ai festeggiamenti natalizi e risparmiare i soldi necessari per la vacanza tropicale. Nell’apprendere la notizia, tutta la gente del vicinato è contrariata e crede che i Krank siano dei pazzi a non voler mettere neanche un festone sulla loro casa: ha quindi inizio una battaglia in cui i vicini cercano di convincere Luther e Nora a cambiare idea.
Le cose per la coppia si mettono male quando riceve una chiamata inaspettata dalla figlia Blair, che ha cambiato idea e vuole tornare dai genitori col fidanzato Enrique per festeggiare insieme il Natale. Riusciranno i Krank, in un solo giorno, ad addobbare meravigliosamente la loro casa prima che arrivi la figlia?
