Mister Link, il film d'animazione diretto da Chris Butler, è ambientato nel 1986 e vede protagonista il carismatico Sir Lionel Frost (voce originale di Hugh Jackman), che si considera il migliore investigatore del mondo per quanto riguarda creature mitologiche e mostri. Il problema è che che nessun esponente dell'alta società sembra riconoscergli questa abilità. Un giorno riceve una lettere e si rende conto di trovarsi di fronte alla possibilità di poter catturare "the missing link" (l'anello mancante), una creatura leggendaria di cui nessuno è ancora riuscito a provare l'esistenza.

Sperando di ottenere finalmente l'approvazione dei suoi colleghi avventurieri e del suo rivale, Lord Piggot-Dunceby, Sir Lionel decide di partire per le regioni dell'estremo nord-ovest del Pacifico alla ricerca dello yeti, bigfoot, sasquatch o qualunque altro nome sia stato affibbiato nel corso del tempo alla creatura. Dopo averlo trovato in una foresta del Nord America, Lionel scopre che è stata proprio lo sasquatch, soprannominato Mr. Link (con la voce originale di Zach Galifianakis), a scrivergli la lettera per chiedergli di aiutarlo a trovare i suoi parenti yeti sull'Himalaya...
