The elevator, il film diretto da Massimo Coglitore, è ambientato nella città di New York, dove vive e lavora il popolare presentatore Jack Tramell (James Parks), 50 anni, single, famoso per il suo TV show di un quiz serale, che fa impazzire gli americani. Un giorno rimane accidentalmente bloccato nel suo ascensore di casa assieme ad una donna misteriosa. Inizia così il drammatico confronto tra Jack, uomo di successo dominato dal cinismo, e la donna sconosciuta, affascinante, autoritaria, cinica, ma anche spaesata; una sorta di bionda dark lady, disposta a tutto pur di scoprire la verità su certi fatti e compiere la sua ipotetica vendetta. Il blocco dell'ascensore non è casuale e neanche il tempo: la sera del "labour day", lungo week end in cui la città si svuota e nessuno potrà aiutarli. Jack è accusato da lei di un gravissimo crimine. Ma qual è la verità? Chi è il vero colpevole? Jack per una notte diventa così ostaggio e "concorrente" del sadico quiz della donna. Tutto in tempo reale. Due personaggi alle prese con i propri segreti in uno spazio claustrofobico, l'ascensore, che diventa metafora di espiazione delle proprie colpe.
