With Collapsed in Sunbeams (title extrapolated, coincidentally, from the pages of the novel On Beauty by Zadie Smith), Arlo Parks emphasizes this literary passion of her, transforming it completely into music.
And he manages to tackle issues like romantic separation (Caroline), unrequited love (Eugene) or alcoholism (Hurt), with rare finesse and intelligence. His bittersweet melodies accompany often melancholy, sometimes sad lyrics with a viscerally pop energy.
