Looper - In fuga dal passato, il film diretto da Rian Johnson, è ambientato in un futuro ipotetico dove tornare nel proprio passato è possibile, ma al tempo stesso illegale. Protagonista della storia è Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) un killer professionista che lavora per la criminalità organizzata uccidendo su commissione. Infatti quando la malavita vuole eliminare qualcuno, usa i viaggi temporali per uccidere la gente, spedisce le vittime nel passato dove ad attenderle ci saranno dei sicari come Joe, che in gergo vengono chiamati "looper", che uccideranno i loro bersagli, liberandosi poi dei corpi. Le vittime appaiono dal nulla completamente legate e i looper non devono fare altro che sparargli da una distanza di tre metri. L’arma preferita dai looper è il Blunderbuss, una pistola non di massima precisione perché non colpisce da troppo lontano, ma di certo non manca un bersaglio vicino. Il killer Joe grazie a quest'attività sta diventando sempre più ricco e può permettersi di fare la bella vita. Ma un giorno dal futuro decidono di chiudere il cerchio, Joe viene contattato per portare a termine un nuovo omicidio. Joe scoprirà che il bersaglio che si troverà di fronte sarà proprio se stesso, ma invecchiato, dovrà infatti eliminare il se stesso del futuro (Bruce Willis).
