English and English SDH subtitles proofed and corrected.

Note : A classic slasher here, "based on a true story", although loosely inspired by would be more accurate, it swings wildly from stark, sudden violence and realistic, low-tech police investigations to extremely goofy shit like TROMBONE STABBING, but it's all in all pretty good, with a minimalist approach to pretty much everything from the killer's outfit to staging and acting. It's nicely shot, though, and has some good creepy moments. Also, props to the director for casting himself as the idiot comic-relief deputy.

This "remaster" isn't really more than a high-def transfer with very little cleanup or improvement, but it looks fine and is more than good enough to watch. The commentary track is unusual, being an odd hybrid of a typical film commentary track and a true crime podcast, with an invited historian (who seems to be quite uncomfortable being recorded) discussing the real series of murders the film was based on. Believe it or not, the stabby trombone wasn't entirely without basis in fact.
