Description
L'arma dell'inganno - Operazione Mincemeat, film diretto da John Madden, racconta gli eventi legati all'omonimo piano condotto nella primavera del 1943 durante la Seconda guerra mondiale dai servizi anglo-americani con lo scopo di depistare l'esercito nazista.
Gli Alleati sono pronti a sbarcare in Europa, precisamente in Sicilia, per combattere l'armata tedesca, ma si trovano di fronte un arduo compito: proteggere le loro forze dal fuoco nazista ed evitare così quello che sarebbe un massacro certo. Per scongiurare la disfatta, due ufficiali dell'Intelligence alleata, Ewen Montagu (Colin Firth) e Charles Cholmondeley (Matthew Macfadyen), escogitano una strategia, mettendo in circolazione false informazioni sullo sbarco delle truppe. Questa strategia della disinformazione ruota intorno a uno degli agenti segreti meno sospettabile tra tutti, perché già morto. Ma questo inganno si rivelerà un reale vantaggio per gli Alleati?
