I actually don't remember where the subs are from, it's either from **neoHEVC** or **Oyasumi**, what I remember is finding some very nice sets of subtitles but having a ton of problems with it not looking right with my video, even after trying to fiddle with the resolution settings on the ass files, so I dropped it in favor of the one currently in here. I tried getting subtitles from a lot of different places but they all had major problems fitting with my video for some reason, and I don't know how to figure them out so I decided to go with this one. If you find a better set that works with these files, or make a fix for it yourself, please do share it here on the comments. For those asking about the codecs changing, I do confess things got a bit messy over time, as I learned more things and as my vision changed depending of the source. Basically, for DVD sources, I'm preferring HEVC over AV1 for a few reasons. For example, DVD sources are usually grainy, which I do like, but it is hard to preserve said grain with AV1. Also at such low resolutions, AV1 loses some of its efficiency, and HEVC can do a better job at conserving fine detail (which is important here since, again, at such low resolutions, we can't afford to lose a lot). I still want both compression and preserving the source, but I went from leaning more into compression, to leaning more into preservation. This is flexible, I'm open to suggestions about this. I did asked already if people prefer HEVC or AV1 for DVDs, but got no replies on that yet so... About the audio, I've already said on some past encode that I really hate these low bitrate OPUS and AAC, OGG Vorbis as well, though they aren't very common to find on anime encodes. That is the biggest reason I started doing my own encodes, my insatisfaction with the audio. Though I do bite the bullet on DVD sources that have lossy audio (since AC3 isn't all that great either), when the source is lossless, it really hurt to not preserve it better. For DVDs that have lossy audio, I can endure encoding it to OPUS, but if they have lossless audio, I'll either do FLAC or WavPack Hybrid. Different from the video, this is the part I'm immovable about. I'm open to suggestions for most things, but the audio will stay this way. I'm still waiting for comments to see what people prefer for DVD sources by the way, using HEVC for video and FLAC when possible for audio, or going back to AV1 for video and WVH when possible for audio.
