Thor's retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods. La ricerca di Thor verso una dimensione di pace interiore è interrotta dall'arrivo del killer galattico Gorr the God Butcher, votato a distruggere tutti gli dei. Thor unirà così le sue forze con Valchiria, Korg e la ex-fidanzata Jane Foster che gli dimostrerà la sua unicità.
