Synopsis







Railway historian Tim Dunn (The Architecture The Railways Built) teams up with Siddy Holloway from the London Transport Museum to explore the disused parts of London's tube network, from abandoned stations to redundant tunnels and lifts, often hidden right under passengers' noses.



Episode 7: Heathrow







Most travellers passing through the Tube stations at Heathrow Airport are, understandably, rushing to catch their flight, so barely glance at their surroundings. However, Tim Dunn and Siddy Holloway have lots of time to exclaim over the mosaics, logos and murals of Heathrow’s underground stations.



They have fun, but then Tim (somewhat understating it) tells us he’s “a little bit excited” because they’re to be dropped off at a secret platform on the terminal four loop line. Frankly, he can barely contain himself. Then Siddy visits Swiss Cottage, a station with a complex history as it’s been on four — or maybe five — lines.
