Adapted from the script of Bergman's 1955 film of a

remarried man's confusion over whom he loves when

an old flame from the period between his marriages

reappears.



Set in Sweden in 1901. No where near as weighty as

Bergman's usual stuff. This one is good fun.



Bergman's plot, which seems to me to be a light hearted

rehash of some of Ibsen's themes, was itself used by

both Sondheim in: 'A Little Night Music', and Woody

Allen in: 'A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy'.
