Under the pressure of the international community, and following the judgment of European Court of Human Rights that was reached in the case "Zorica Jovanovic versus Serbia", the Government establishes a Mixed Commission, and conferred to it the examination of facts in the affair "missing babies" that has lasted for several decades. By the recommendation from the European Court of Human Rights' judgment, the Commission has a task to discover the truth in all cases that are the same or similar enough (since 1970), as well as to provide financial compensation to the parents. Since the very beginning of the Commission's work, we see that the majority of members have been insufficiently interested in substantial dealing with this issue. A group of parents, whose devotion has led to the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights, is dissatisfied with such development of events. They do not seek financial compensation; they demand the truth about their children's destiny. After unsuccessful appeal to the government representatives, the parents decide to pursue their own investigation, which they have been leading for years - Ljuba (ex-policeman) explains that the "indications" are not the same as "evidence", and that it is really difficult to prove baby trafficking after so much time, even if it did exist.

Igrana miniserija ‘Kalup’ nastala je po elementima istinitih priča iz afere “nestale bebe”. Ova afera otvorena je u Srbiji početkom 2000-ih, a obuhvaća period još od sedamdesetih godina dvadesetog stoljeća. Radnja serije smještena je u sadašnje vrijeme kada privatni istražitelj Ljuba (Milivoje Obradović), u ime jedne grupe roditelja nestalih beba pokušava doći do istine.
Ova socijalna drama scenarista i redatelja Vuka Ršumovića govori o tome da istina nije jednostavna, ali da je država odavno trebala napraviti puno više da pomogne roditeljima da dođu do istine. Autori imaju kritički osvrt i na medije u Srbiji, koji su ovu temu tretirali tabloidno. Cilj ovog projekta, pored kvalitetnog dramskog programa, jest upravo taj: da se ovoj teškoj temi pristupi na drugačiji način i da se zaustavi njena dalja tabloidizacija, izazivanjem gotovo svakodnevnih senzacija.
