This movie is based on a novel of Tiziano Sclavi, and it always reflects the "sclavian philosophy" diffused by the most succesful comics in Italy: Dylan Dog, the detective of the nightmare. There is the duality between love and dead (in Italian "dellamore" means "of love" and "dellamorte" means "of death"), a duality that Dellamorte feels in a really hard way. He is the guardian of the cemetery of Buffalora, a little town in the north of Italy, in which, we don't know why, corpses rise from tombs and Dellamorte has to destroy them. Dellamorte seems not to ask to himself why this happen, he shoots and loves. But at the end he wants to leave Buffalora...

Note: This is an Italian production that was originally released in Italian and as such the Italian audio is ordered first. However, due to the way Italian films were produced at the time, the movie was shot with no sound and both audios were dubbed in post. The actors are speaking English on set and as such the English audio is the better viewing experience.

ITA Blu-ray (English Dolby Stereo Mix, Commentary)

Source 3: NTSC DVD (Named Chapters)

Notes:

Video demuxed with MakeMKV to preserve Dolby Vision. The lossy Dolby Digital audio from the UHD was chosen for the Italian audio as every single other release I could find that had it the levels are messed up and it is noticeable louder in one channel. Only the UHD audio had balanced levels between the channels. The 5.1 mix on the UHD was included as it seems to be a unique mix from the Atmos mix and I preferred it to that mix on my 5.1 setup. For the English Dolby Stereo mix, I went with the Italian Blu-ray audio as the UHD audio had some sort of overly aggressive hiss/noise filtering applied that made everything sound kind of hollow and caused other weird audible artifacting. Lossless commentary taken from the ITA blu-ray and synced. All English subs taken from UHD blu-ray, GBR blu-ray subs had nothing special to offer translation wise and I prefer the wording/formatting of the UHD subs. All English subs OCR'd and SDH removed from subs for English audio for full option. Italian SDH subs from the ITA blu-ray were tonemapped and also included. Named chapters from the NTSC DVD synced to appropriate I and P frames.
