Mode 2: A pre-release version of SVT-AV1 v3.1 Mode 2 was used. Total encoding time was 10 days 20 hours on an AMD Ryzen 9 9950x. This was the lowest bearable preset. It is within 4% of the best coding efficiency SVT-AV1 can offer. We were able to improve coding efficiency from Mode 3 (7%) -> Mode 2 (4%) by custom building SVT-AV1 using GCC 14.3!




Bitrates: VBR 3000kbps was used for the video stream. OPUS 5.1 320kbps was used for the audio stream. The compression ratio is 7.9 to 1. The original sources were 600GB. Our total file size is 75.6GB. We have one of the highest file sizes (among other encoders) in the most efficient AV1 video codec. Our offering is higher video and audio quality for the torrent community!


32MB piece sizes: We have selected 32MB piece sizes to allow for rapid distribution at high speeds. uTorrent will work, but you'll need to use the latest version. All modern torrent clients (qBittorrent, transmission, deluge etc.) support this piece size. A 16MB piece size is a mistake. Spinning up hard-drives is not an effective way to keep torrents alive on public trackers!


Bandwidth: We will seed the torrents at 800MB/s until they catch up. We could use help with 10gbps seed boxes for 3 hours. The best way to say thank you is to keep seeding!
