Plot Summary:

In Bakersfield, California, private investigator Honey O’Donahue is summoned to a suspicious fatal car accident—one involving a prospective client—and begins to suspect it’s no simple accident. Her inquiries lead her into the orbit of a cult-like “Four-Way Temple” run by charismatic Reverend Drew Devlin, who secretly traffics drugs and preys on his followers. As bodies mount and dark secrets unravel, Honey contends with crooked cops, dangerous cult members, her own niece’s disappearance, and a steamy yet volatile attraction to officer MG Falcone. In the ruthless desert noir, alliances shift and survival becomes the ultimate mystery.
