Plot Summary:

Set in 1998 Lower East Side, Hank Thompson (Austin Butler), a washed-up baseball hopeful now tending bar, agrees to cat-sit for his eccentric neighbor Russ (Matt Smith). That simple favor spirals into chaos: Hank becomes the unintentional pawn in a violent underworld chase involving Russian mobsters, Hasidic crime brothers, corrupt cops, and a mysterious key hidden in a litter box. As bodies fall and tensions escalate, Hank must outwit relentless pursuers, drawing on grit, instinct—and a dash of luck—to survive. Meanwhile, Detective Roman (Regina King) unravels the twisted conspiracy pulling New York’s seedy underbelly into a frenzied collision with Hank’s fate.
