NOTES

Demuxed with latest DGDemux and w/ merge DV function, Shout UHD already contains cm v4.0

Best Cantonese mono still was from Criterion LaserDisc, as the Shout one was even more boosted with clipping, with some filtering and losing dynamic range over the Criterion LD, the shout was also padded;

or Slow.pics

There's no need for other Cantonese audio, as all 5.1 remixes are extremely bad and not worth including.

For English Dub the Shout offered the best, it was pure mono and stripped to one channel. All other 5.1 remixed of said dub are also terrible and offer no value, only less fidelity and more echo.

For commentaries, the Shout ported the Criterion commentary (it's boosted but no real clipping with same quality), both the #2 and #3 were in fact pure mono, so stripped to mono, while the first one left as dual mono due to the stereoization at the start.

Another commentary from the 2010 USA Blu-ray with Bey Logan, it had all frequencies intact, edited for him to speak the introduction, cut afterwards and then again to refering the logo, as it was needed to match the UHD runtime, and then afterwards an edit to compensate 52 frames missing, and matching the runtime of the UHD.

Finally the last commentary was taken from the Fox Lorber NTSC DVD (not from the Hong Kong Rescue Bootleg Blu-ray), however this commentary was oos even on the dvd, in several parts, I've checked also the Rescue Bootleg Blu-ray and it was also way of sync, but strangely they did some EQ and thinkering but still was oos. So I've taken the pristine one from the DVD and synced myself, at least three parts had to be patched, and the edits to make it in sync were far more than the US BD one, so it was don in FLAC 16-bit with all logos and runtime of UHD.

For now the best english subs are the ones on the Shout, it's same as on WEB-DL that came out recently. Discarded the german subs that's on one bootleg and on other retail because they're for the german dub. All other PGS were synced and tonemapped to 65%, including the UHD one as it was 100% bright. Named chapters from the Fox Lorber NTSC DVD, has it had the best balanced of number of chapters/named ones, the Criterion had excessive named chapters. All synced to I-frames of remux.
