Gandhi Kannadi

Gandhi, a security man with a soft spot for sweeping gestures, wants to give his wife Kannama the 60th they never had. He hires Kathir, an event planner with bills to pay and a girlfriend-partner who keeps the quotes straight. Gandhi’s got no money for this grand celebration of his, but he does have a piece of land, apparently. With Kathir’s help, he sells it in an all-cash transaction. Then demonetization hits and eighty lakhs in notes turns into hot potato. On paper, there is conflict, irony, and a ticking clock. On screen, the film keeps circling the same handful of feelings without finding a rhythm.
