Carmeni Selvam

Selvam is a simpleton whose modesty often comes across as stubbornness. He works as a driver for the well-off Sampath and lives with his wife Shanthi and young son in tight financial circumstances, where every rupee is negotiated and every small expense becomes a debate. When Sampath leaves town briefly, Selvam starts picking up cab-driving work on the side. Nearly every passenger he ferries turns into an unsolicited life coach: Spend to feel rich. Think big. Get a credit card. These encounters play out like a fantasy version of ride-sharing, where fares come bundled with philosophical makeovers. Each one nudges Selvam further into debt, until a driving gig in Sharjah becomes his last resort.
