My notes



 Dickensian is an original television series based on the works of Charles

Dickens.  It's unique feature is that it creates a new narrative with many of the

Dickens characters across the many works in which they were created.  The

narrative begins with an investigation into the death of Jacob Marley.

The format of the original series is half hour episodes which likens Dickensian

to a serialized release of chapters in fliers or newsprint as was done in Dickens

period.



  Clearly and intentionally this drama from the BBC should be a holiday

perennial.  It is only recently that US libraries were able to get it-- and they

did.  Just locally my library system has got copies for all the branches.
