Following the war and still in grief Charles is given some photographs purporting to be of fairies. His search for the truth leads him to Burkinwell, a seemingly peaceful village seething with secrets where he becomes drawn into a web of passion, romance and violence..

О фильме:
Фотограф Чарльз Касл тяжело переживает утрату своей красавицы-невесты, погибшей во время снежной бури. Утратив вкус к жизни, вне себя от горя, он отправляется на войну, и, работая фоторепортером, не раз встречается лицом к лицу со смертью.
После войны Чарльз встречает таинственную незнакомку, которая показывает ему фотоснимки, на которых изображены… настоящие феи. Непреодолимое желание докопаться до истины приводит его в захолустную деревушку Беркинвэлл. В этом мирном, на первый взгляд, местечке, Чарльз постепенно оказывается втянутым в мистическую феерию, которая сулит райское блаженство, но приносит окружающим только смерть.
Сможет ли Чарльз разгадать головоломку, удастся ли ему найти грань между реальностью и фантазией, между жизнью и смертью?
