Paradise Hills, film diretto da Alice Waddington, è la storia di Uma (Emma Roberts), una ragazza ribelle, che un giorno si risveglia in una scuola, sita su una remota isola, nella quale le ragazze vengono portate per essere riformate; a capo di questo programma, denominato "Paradise Hill", c'è una bellissima ed eccentrica donna, nota come La Duchessa (Milla Jovovich).

Uma è stata portata nel riformatorio a sua insaputa, dopo che si è rifiutata di sposare un suo pari di classe sociale, Son (Arnaud Valois), perché innamorata di Markus (Jeremy Irvine), di status inferiore. Sull'isola la giovane incontra altre ragazze, allieve come lei, con cui stringe amicizia: Amarna (Eiza González), una cantante famosa colpevole di aver scelto di cantare i suoi brani senza l'appoggio dei genitori; Chloe (Danielle Macdonald), adolescente in sovrappeso che la famiglia desidera, invece, magra e slanciata; infine Yu (Awkwafina), un'orfana di status inferiore, che affidata ai zii ricchi, viene mandata nella scuola per diventare una perfetta esponente di un alto ceto sociale.

Dopo l'incontro con La Duchessa, Uma inizia a sospettare che tra le lussuose mura della struttura immersa nel verde venga nascosto qualcosa di sinistro. Mentre cerca di ideare un piano per fuggire insieme alle sue amiche, la ragazza si imbatterà nell'infernale segreto di Paradise Hill.
