Ned Fleming, la moglie e il figlio più giovane si spostano durante le vacanze di Natale dal

Michigan alla California, per far visita alla primogenita Stephanie e conoscere il suo fidanzato,

dopo che ne hanno più che intravisto il posteriore nel corso di una videochiamata collettiva.

un'ipertecnologica tenuta da sogno, ma anche eccentrico erotomane, incapace di controllare il

linguaggio, insensibile a qualunque limite socialmente stabilito. Nonostante il ragazzo sembri

conquistare il resto della famiglia, Ned persiste nel considerarlo il suo peggior nemico, specie

dal momento in cui Laird gli confessa di voler fare a sua figlia la fatidica proposta.
