Here, have another BD volume. Whoever looked at the flashbacks in episode 1000 and concluded that those looked good needs to be punched. A bunch of those shots were just at half resolution, seemingly upscaled with nearest-neighbor, for NO REASON AT ALL. (Seriously, Water 7 and Thriller Bark were animated in HD. There was NO reason for those flashbacks to look that bad.) We attempted to filter them into something resembling sanity, but... there might be a case to be made for someone to just reconstruct the entire sequence manually. Because the way Toei rendered those shots, some of that detail was just GONE.
