After much effort, Amalie and her dance group finally get their big chance: they advance to the worldwide final in France. Arriving in Paris, life begins to unravel. The competition is fierce and the dance troupe realizes they must renew their performance or they don't stand a chance. Meanwhile, Amalie becomes distracted in search of her estranged mother who lives in Paris and runs a ballet school. Amalie's stage presence suffers and the dance crew's frustration grows.
