О фильме:
В небольшой клинике в Уккермарке одаренный и незаурядный врач Амин Баллуз борется за благо пациентов и в то же время против собственного прошлого. Со своей командой он оказывает медицинскую помощь в идиллическом местечке на границе с Польшей.
В молодости он покинул родину ради своей любимой жены Мары и обрёл в Германии новый дом, питая к стране и людям, которые его приняли, добрейшие чувства. Пациенты для него - это его семья, а больница - его жизнь.
Но внезапно доктор Баллуз сталкивается с внезапной и неожиданной смертью жены. Именно себя он винит в том, что не смог помочь любимому человеку. Кажется, его жизнь закончена, но через некоторое время после утраты он возвращается в клинику. Окружающие помогают найти дорогу обратно к жизни врачу с большим сердцем.
